Nature Woman.

So apparently I am a total outdoor girl! Like I got this idea to go hiking yesterday and I just did it! That is totally not like me but I am trying really hard to move my body more than once a year. So, Hollie was up for the weekend and we decided to go to the wind caves. I remembered doing this hike one year for girl's camp and I also of course remember dying on it. That is not really saying much because I die when any sort of exercise is involved. Seriously. But I was really nervous we were going to pass out from exhaustion on the trail and ravenous animals were going to drag us deep into the woods to enjoy us as a Thanksgiving feast or something. Thankfully that didn't happen. We started out really motivated and happy with our decision. I was in a jolly mood taking pictures of the pretty nature scenes around us. About twenty minutes into our hike, our cheerful moods had disappeared only to be replaced by self loathing because of this terrible choice! Who goes on a death hike on a friday night when we could be enjoying a yummy Fh'zookie at the local Firehouse? At this point we asked some people coming down how much farther we had because we knew it had to be almost over judging by the fact that our legs had pretty much stopped working. To our dismay, the super skinny wench mom told us we were just getting started! For a brief moment we considered turning around. But we didn't want to feel like big fat failures so we kept going! We got a good timing system that helped us stay motivated. We seriously asked everyone we passed how much longer and one man a little past the halfway point really encouraged us! He told us that we could do it because the terrain was not any harder than what we had already done. He lied. The last half was killer! But I am still glad he was such a nice man to motivate us and make us feel strong! I am proud to say that we made it to the top! And it really was fun to do something active for a change! I want to keep climbing this same hike to see how well I progress.

We had no idea what was in store for us. Poor innocent souls.

We were a little nervous about the rough terrain ahead of us when we had to cross this river full of rapids that could have easily knocked us down within the first five minutes of the hike.

Here is one of the many beautiful pics I got when I still had energy to pull my camera out.

I believe we are trying to portray how exhausted we are, not quite sure.

Yea! We are the champions of the world! Nothing can stop us!!!!

We were so happy to finally see Winnifred again we just had to take a mament to hug and kiss her.

I never would have tried to repeat any of the hikes we did while in Young Women's. I have horrible memories of all of them. Bishop Sharp making us climb down that mountain while gripping the side with our fingertips, or the wind caves when Kiele, Kati, Stephanie, and Angie ended up on the wrong mountain, none of those are pleasant memories for me. But I am very glad that you were so motivated. That is a lot better of a Logan trip than mine was where all we did was sleep and eat!

It's ok that I visited you in Logan for like a week and a half and you didn't blog about any of that, but whenever Hollie and/or Brit come visit you blog every tiny second of the trip. It's ok. I'm happy you made it to the top! Remember how my parents are into climbing everything twice in a row now? You being the avid nature woman you are, will probable want to climb Table Rock 3 times!

I did this hike when i lived in Logan with some friends. we did it at night and I thought we were climbing Everest! It just never ended! Is it the one with all the switchbacks? I'm glad you did it, the view at the end is quite rewarding. I'll have to come up some weekend and do it with you.
